Collection
The LitMuseum’s collection encompasses more than 30,000 objects in the main fund and approximately 17,000 objects in the auxiliary research fund.
These artifacts convey the spirit of Ukrainian literature, including that of the Slobozhanshchyna region, through the ages.
The collection includes autographed books (by Mykola Khvylovy, Mike Yohansen, Mykola Kulish and others), manuscripts (by Mykola Khvylovy, Ivan Dniprovsky, Serhiy Zhadan and others), unique letters of writers, annotated periodicals, photographs, personal belongings (for example, Pavlo Tychyna’s pince-nez), documents (Les Kurbas’ passport), memorial objects (VAPLITE’s seal, doors from Vasyl Blakytny’s House of Literature), paintings by Kharkiv-based artists (works of Valer Bondar), etc. The core of the collection consists of artifacts from the Executed Renaissance of the 1920–30s, the Sixtiers and the Ukrainian resistance movement (1960–80s) and the early 1990s.
The collection includes materials that were banned in the Soviet Union.
